Springing into April

Here we are, springing into April, with a new pink full moon, Nature Play returning this month (see classes), NASA launching Artemis to the moon and I’m launching my new brand to our local community!

I’ve just returned from a family break away and have so enjoyed this time together, seeing nature unfold the new season with buds, flowers, longer grass and some glorious sunshine too! After the recent weaning workshop, and time outdoors, it’s reminded me of the wondrous sensory input our babies are soaking up.

Spring is the perfect time to be grounding, using nature to feed those amazing sensory organs – the feet!! Science tells us that babies have around 200,000 receptors in their feet so getting barefoot helps to stimulate their brain and integrate reflexes such as the one under the toes (plantar primitive reflex that curls the toes when little). Try some TummyTime on a blanket on grass with the bare feet touching the grass for some additional sensory play.
